4 speed saginaw question

the transmission in the truck started makin an awful grinding noise today on the way how from the parts store. got home and pulled the side cover off. all the gears looks good, but had a ball bearing fall out when the oil drained. the scynonizer rings for 3-4 seems to have a lot of play in them. was wonderin if that was normal or if they were supposed to be tighter? either way i think its time for a rebuild. chris.

I think they are designed to have a bearing ball fall out whenever the side-plate is removed.J/K.I`d have to check into that a bit farther, not good.

pulled the tranny out yesterday and front bearing ate itself up and snapped the shaft that the throw out bearing slide on. didn't put a piolt bushin in the crank when i got the new motor. that with drive shaft angle angle being off did it in. but when to the junkyard last night and got another one for 2 3spd sags, and offenhauser intake, and $40. gotta love being friends with the junkyard guy. hopefully the she'll be back together tonite. chris.
