You are kinda limited to 71-72 due to 5 lug and coil perches.But if you change the perch mounts and rig the panhard bar you can use a newer rear.

Have you done this? I'm not sure of what all would have to be done, I've been looking for awhile, Eatons/Moroso's arn't cheap, I've only found deals on 67-68 posi rear ends, I hate to buy the whole rear end just to pull the posi out of it, seems like such a waste.

No, but they talk about swapping rears on here and what brackets to do it with.The hassle is the leaf brackets are straight and the coils are angled plus the panhard bar mounts to the center section so a clamp or weld on bracket is required.
