Gotta move my engine (and everything else!)

Anyone have any pictures or ideas for a quick, inexpensive "cradle" to move my engine on? I have to be moved in less than 2 weeks and the stuff in my shop is a killer... I have a 454 on the engine stand right now but need to make a cradle for it so I can carry it safely in my other truck. I have an engine lift to pick it up and move it etc. Thanks all!

most autoparts stores have engine storage cradles for around $25

Ck at a parts store for an enging crate, the ones they come shipped in, and go to harbor freight an get a 4 wheel flat tire dolly, attach the crate to the dolly, or just mount 4 casters to the engine crate.

No sure how far you have to move it....
WHen I moved mine....about 10 miles to a storage building....
I hoisted it into the bed of a truck and sat it on a tire from a SCCA BMW race car. It held it nicely with a few straps for the ride.
Once at the storage building I reattached the hoist and reversed the operation.

I built one out of 2x4s/4 casters/and an old tire. Less than 25$ for the wood and a box of screws. Used a tire as a base to set it in

Summit Racing. Around $25.00 and to your door in 2 days. I have my 396 stored on one now. Very sturdy.

cut the basket off of a shoping cart leaving some of the upright post to keep it from falling over

:agree:

This worked nicely moving a 327 about 15 miles. Just make sure it's strapped down. I used an old truck tire. The oil pan nestled down nicely, and very stable.

I used two tires (15") and four straps to move the 6.2 diesel many, many miles. :)

Well, like I said I gotta move everything so I guess I could move some tires at the same time! Thanks all.
