my lines keep clogging up pulled sending unit and the filter on the unit is rotted and falling apart the tank looks clean.can you get the filter or do you have to get whole sending unit.
thought about using short piece of hose and clamp and in line filter on sending unit.or just put a good filter inline before pump. im replacing all the lines from tank to carb.where the line comes from tank thru floor do i have to have the rubber line there or can i run all steel line.thanks |

Re: fuel filter and line help
All steel line is preferred. Just give it a couple of feet on each before you clamp it to the frame end so it can flex with the cab and engine movement.
It sounds like you need to clean out your tank. Best done by pulling it and rinsing it out. Sounds like there is some junk in the bottom, tough to see with it in the truck. |
Re: fuel filter and line help
you shouldn't install a filter before the bump, can cause, or aggravate a vapor lock condition.
