Changing oil pan gasket

I need to change the oil pan gasket out in my 350. I am going be taking the motor out to swap out the flexplate and do a few other things. Is this a pretty straight forward swap or is there anything to look out for?

Thanks

get the one piece seal...much easier to deal with. other than that, it's pretty straight forward

Staight and to the point. If you are comfortable pulling the engine to do the fly wheel swap you should have no problem with the oil pan gasket. make sure what year your engine is and go fo a one piece if you can IMO its a good choice. Also depending on how many miles you have on the engine a rear main seal and oil pump swap may be a good idea for extra insurance while it down that far. Ya wouldn't want to get it back in and have a rear main seal go in the near future very cheap insurance. just my .02 good luck with it keep us posted

One piece is good, don't use any sealant. You'll be able to reuse it 8-10 times.

Gearhead the engine is a target master crate 350. Gen 1 small block.

Used the 1 piece Felpro...... But they do advise on putting a dab of RTV in the corners of the timing cover.

Thanks for the pics Mark. Not sure If I will be able to do this with the motor upside down since it still has coolant in it. Probably have to put it up on a stand to do this.
