I,m looking for a set. You're talking about the big spicer ones with the 3/8 x3 inch or so allen bolts and the wide spacer that go'es behind them? Bigger than most.
Maybe I,m not reading this right. Sounds like you want the metal ones because your tired of the plastic, but you have metal ones to trade???

Re: dana 44 spicer hubs dials

Re: dana 44 spicer hubs dials

Now I understand. Your planning on making some that would swap out for the plastic ones. I thought you were looking to trade with someone. Are you able to turn them on a lathe? If you can make them and their the ones I,m thinking about that would be great. My plastic ones broke where the small pin goe's through it.

If your gonna go to the trouble, make them stainless steel. They'll be something for people to find in 1500 years, when nothing is left from the rest of the truck, and an archeoligist digs it up!

Re: dana 44 spicer hubs dials

3/4t the choices are aluminum or stainless

Re: dana 44 spicer hubs dials

I'm headed to the 4x4 swap here this weekend and that is one item i'll be digging for. I need the bigger ones. Some 3/4 and even 1 tons do not run these bigger, older spicer hubs. Like I mentioned earlier their the big bolt ,3/8 allen ones that are generally rounded on the edges and look really beefy.
If this is what you are having made and I can't find any this weekend then I would be interested. Did he give you a price?

deer slayer 03-08-2007 06:40 PM

Re: dana 44 spicer hubs dials

Re: dana 44 spicer hubs dials

Keep me posted also, blue powder coated steel would be awsome! Look original and last forever.

deer slayer 03-08-2007 08:35 PM

Re: dana 44 spicer hubs dials

yea they would be powder coated aluminum and polished ss

zeusflash 03-09-2007 08:06 PM

Re: dana 44 spicer hubs dials

That would still work for me,Deerslayer!

special-K 03-09-2007 10:39 PM

Re: dana 44 spicer hubs dials

Would the powdercoat interfere with function?Would you undersize the dial to accomodate the coating thickness? The stock ones break from lack of maintainence...not cleaned or oiled.

Looks can be deceiving.
Those 6 3/8in bolts are what ultimately drives the wheels.
Granted I've never broken one yet...

I'd be interested if I can afford a set hub dials.

Powdercoated orange! (My truck is orange)
