knew windshield ppg

hey guys,

i just got a knew windshield from the glass shop. its a ppg with the visor tint. i noticed that the glass is like a sixteenth smaller in thickness compared to original. what have you guys done to get it to fit with out leaks. do in need to buy a knew rubber also. does the knew rubber have the skinnier channel in it for the thinner glass.

any help will be appreciated

I'm not sure if the channel in the rubber is thinner but I would consider getting a new one anyway.... I guess you could use some sealer in the channel but it would probably be a little messy.

I have a new PPG window also (likely the exact same as yours) and I haven't had any sealing issues with new rubber all around. I never checked the thickness of the glass, as I took and threw the original months before getting the replacement.

Should be good to go, the rubber has a tight hold on the glass, so 1/16" shouldn't matter.
