Original Manual & Receipt?
So I was doing some interior work on my '72, and came across the original receipt of purchase, and the manual for the truck. Turns out it was purchased Fall of '71 off the lot in Michigan. I gotta ask, is there any value to these? Awesome condition, and the manual looks almost brand new, other than some scratches and fading.

Re: Original Manual & Receipt?
You are very fortunate to have found these documents. The more documentation you have the more credibility your truck has if you ever want to sell the vehicle. As well if you plan to show your truck at shows especially if your truck is stock as this will help gain you points. Put them away in a safe place and handle with care.

Yea I shrink wrapped them (because I didn't know what else to put them in). I just thought it was really awesome. Being that it was the original receipt and all. Like you said, even if there isn't any value in them, it's still awesome to have.

Re: Original Manual & Receipt?
That's pretty cool that you found them. I still have the bill of sale for my truck; they traded in a 1965 1/2 ton fleetside for my 68. There's even some warranty repair paperwork for a faulty carrier bearing.

Re: Original Manual & Receipt?
I`ll give you what`s on that invoice:lol:.It`s a cool piece to have only to stay with that truck, though.I got one with my`71 short K/10.The guy plunked a $20 bill down for a deposit.Imagine doing that today. He came back with the rest of the $3,700 in full and drove it home uninsured.Things have changed and that little piece of paper tells it all. That`s what`s cool about that kind of documentation.

Re: Original Manual & Receipt?
I agree that the paperwork helps with the sale it- sort of paints the history of the old truck. I got everything with mine including the protect-o-plate. I have the invoice when he ordered it and the sales slip when he took delivery of it months later. That’s pretty cool IMO. Keep all the records, that’s the only thing that can’t be replaced.

Re: Original Manual & Receipt?
Protecto plate very cool. This kind of documentation along with manuals and receipts always brings a higher resale value. It has not hurt the Corvette and the muscle car market. In fact it is almost assumed that high dollar vehicles will have correct documentation to verify the authenticity of the said vehicle.
Our trucks are becoming more sought after and it is just a matter of time before prices sky rocket. Of course I'm talking about the better examples not the rust buckets. esll. :) |
Re: Original Manual & Receipt?
I have got a 72 that has been in our family sence new and i have all the orignal paper work. Protector plate, build sheet, sales sheet. its all in the plastic packet that you get with the truck it even has the tape deck instructions emission control systems booklet and even the first registration papers it cost 1.50 to transfer the title and 4.00 to get it tested.
