Need advice on painting frame!

I listed this here because I knew it would get a better response than in the paint section. I am getting ready to paint my frame and the guy at the paint store doesn't know "come here from sick em".

I am looking for the best/ most correct color for GM semi-gloss of semi-flat(what ever you call it) black. I guess for simplicity I will paint the frame, core support, inner fenders, ect. all the same color.

Does anybody have any suggestion on the type of paint as well as any codes or numbers for the correct GM black. Thanks in Advance ..........Jason

Check Eastwood. their chassis black should be either the duplicate of GM or close enough.

just about any auto paint supply store carries chassis black it's about as close as you'll get and most chain autoparts store carry it in spray cans either way you wont need to pay shipping and can buy local

Here is the real deal. This is what GM uses for frames under hood, inner fenders etc. When I was restoring Corvettes this is the only paint that I used period! This was available through Gm Dealers or Corvette suppliers such as Zip Products, Ecklers, Corvette America or pretty much any supplier of Corvette parts. Do not let them talk you into a black paint that has the consistency of under coating. Settle for nothing less then this paint with this label.

esll. :)

I used martin senour chassis black. I think it is a glossier than the original but it turned out good. You could use any satin black automotive paint and it would look great.

Powdercoat

you can do a lower gloss than I did, but it is 50x more durable than paint is and it's a lot easier to clean
Little more work to do, but worth it in the end
