that's the top of the muffler, effectively forcing all the sound and heat against the cab floor.
they were like this when i bought it, 4 years ago. it's just been sitting all this time, and i'm finally getting it roadworthy.

My poor wife drove it in this condition from Boise to San Diego when i bought it, and to think i thought she was being whiny when she claimed the truck was loud and hot :lol:

That looks like a flowtech raptor, just like I have on my 89. They are made out of pretty thin stuff...
