Gold and white on fleetside pickups and vans, gold on other trucks. (burbs and blazers and stepsides) Has to have the gold and white vinal, or the gold cloth seats to be a 50th.

Here is part of one rusting away in a junkyard a few miles away...71 20 Series Longhorn with 250/SM465 :( If it's still there in a few years I might buy it and end up making it a 4wd...

Andy, Put it on for the last Monroe swap meet since it was raining. I was also about to the send the BB truck to paint and had to get it off that truck. I has grown roots on there...hate it but in this rainy part of the country it is handy...LOL!

Why did chevrolet make longhorns? I know they are supposed to be for camping purposes, but just a few inch extension does not seem to be worth it. but I still think they are cool because their different.

Re: howz about those LONGHORN pics

Well, yeah.Plus a longer wheel-base (133") and a one-ton frame. When I got mine it had the original '69 camper on it and guess what, there was an extra 6" gap between the camper and the front of the bed. I am guessing that the camper companies didn't make too many 8 1/2' campers to fill that extra space. LonghornMan will probably know.

Anymore?

mtdave2 09-19-2007 11:06 PM

Re: howz about those LONGHORN pics

well, as i understand it, the extra length helped center the weight of the camper between the wheels, rather than have the rear axle taking most of it.

what i find it does, is gives a nice place to store stuff in front of the camper!
