Who all has "peep" style mirrors on their truck?

I was wanting to put a set on my 69 suburban. Are they ok to use when pulling a trailer? Lets see some pics.

I have a set of peep mirrors on my truck and have used them for about 5 years. They took some getting use to going from larger mirrors. Mine are 4" round mirrors and I'd actually prefer something like 5"W x 3"T for looks and useability.

Having said that, I wouldn't use them on a Suburban towing a trailer. I'd tow a utility trailer with them using a truck, but not a long Sub with limited visability in the rear.

I haven't decided on the F150s or the "peep" style yet. for towing (vintage trailer) I purchased a set of vintage towing mirrors, the clamp on and off. I'll use those for towing (or at least until I realize people think the sub is from the "geek" squad)

Re: Who all has "peep" style mirrors on their truck?

I, too, have the 4-inch peep mirrors on my truck. For the passenger's side, I put a 4-inch convex (makes stuff look smaller to me) over the flat glass mirror.

As for towing, they're useless. Hey, they're called "peep" mirrors for a reason. I just gave away a Fomoco mirror designed for temporary use. It had a tab that fit between the hood and fender, two pads that rested on the side of the fender, and a rubber strap that applied tension and held it all in place (by putting the "hook" on the bottom of the fender edge). Wouldn't work on our trucks, natch....it's a Fomoco part!!

I have had several different peep mirrors on different vehicles. They were useless on everything I ever had them on, but they keep the law happy.

Im putting the stock style round mirrors on my panel. I plan on putting convex mirrors over them to help me see. I also have a set of those old towing mirrors that you clamp to part of your fenderwell and under the hood. I cant find a picture online to explain what Im talking about. I think the older fellas will know what I mean.

What are "peep" mirrors? I am looking into some of the little round ones that mount up high on the door/window frame.. Are these the same things you guys are talking about?
