LMC under hood lamp location
 

Hey, has anyone installed that LMC underhood lamp successfully?

Got any suggestions of a good location?

I tried right behind the latch, but the orientation makes it stay on when the hood is closed.

What did you do?

is this the one that has a mercury switch in it to turn it off & on ?

I 'm trying to figure out how its supposed to be mounted

I am sure it isn't right but I screwed mine to the middle of the inner fender on the drivers side. I am not saying it is right but it is great to access for me.

they mount on the hood on each side of engine pointing towards sides of engine.

for what it's worth, I have always swiped the engine compartment light off the older nissans (Z's are good). it has a switch for on off, but the light can be removed from the housing. you unwind and put the light where you need it.

I have had that light sitting outside the compartment on more than one occasion to help with tire changes in the dark..

yes i use 1995 chevy truck windup reel lights myself, they have a switch and built in magnet so you can stick em where you want them. bu they lights like he has turn on everytime you open the hood are a nice addition also.
