Clutch bracket - Frame side
I need to know if the frame mounted bracket for the clutch linkages are all the same for 6 cyl and V-8 applications? I'm trying to sort it out for a '70' K20 with a SBC and Granny 4 speed. I have '67 C-10 roller which is original I6 and 3 on the tree and the bracket is riveted in and has a bit of a dogleg in it but it's different than the existing one on the K-20 which is stamped steel but does not have the dogleg it it.
Any pics of stock linkage would be a great help.:confused: I think PO may have used the wrong style (year) things just do not line up right and the clutch rod from the pedal to the Z-bar was welded up. i got all the new pieces i could find from different board vendors but was not able to find bracket as a repop item. Any help and guidance would be greatly appreciated!!!!!! |
Re: Clutch bracket - Frame side
They are not the same. I *think* you can turn the bracket around 180 degrees to use on a V8, if it was originally an inline, or vice versa. I may be crazy, but that's what I thought I'd heard in the past. I'm sure someone will chime in and either confirm or deny this.

Re: Clutch bracket - Frame side
I'm pretty sure after looking at a few of mine they are the same I6 and a V8. there is a difference in the frame mount from a 67~68 truck and 69~72 because the frame wasn't recess in that area in the first two years.
