oil pressure gauge not working-6 cyl

1 Attachment(s)
Finally got around to swapping my oil pressure sending unit to mechanical instead of idiot lights. I ran a line from the block to the gauge but I'm not getting a reading. I can see the oil in the tube but no swing to the needle.
When i shut the truck off the line is oil, air, oil. But when I rev it up the oil goes all the way to the gauge. What's the problem? Picture is with motor off.

I'd bet that the gauge is bad, since it looks like oil is getting in the line. Don't worry about some air in the line, it makes no difference. I suppose you could unhook the line from the gauge and crank the engine(don't start it, could be a big mess) have a catch can ready and see if oil is getting all the way there.

I can watch the oil go all the way to the gauge when the engine is revved up, but it never moves.
I got out and ran in 3rd gear wound up,should have been max pressure.

Thats why I think the gauge is bad, Since oil is getting to the gauge and it doesn't read anything then the gauge is bad.
