drop blocks
Anyone here use drop blocks with the stock springs? I am on a budget and was looking at how Tx Firefighter made his in the FAQ section.
I want to be able to drop the back down about 2-3 inches and this looks like a perfect solution. I was worried that if I keep the stock springs, I will get a rough ride or the springs will compress and bind too much. Any problems running these? Thanks Mike |

It will ride the same as it does now, blocks only raise the axle there by lowering the truck. The spring travel is the same. If you go with to big a block you run the risk of dragging the end of the bolts.

Re: drop blocks
ok thanks, that answers my questions about the springs. I have a large tire on the back and I understand that you dont want the bottom of the u-bolt to go past the bottom of the rim. I think I am correct on this and it doesnt matter what tire size you run.
Mine on the back are 30x11.5x15 and would like to run similar in the future. I may just save for a 3' drop spring combined with a 2" block. |
