frame difference?
Would a 67 frame and 69 frame be the same assuming they are both 1/2 ton 2wd c10's?
What I'm really wondering is if a 67 cab and front end will fit on my 69 frame. |
Re: frame difference?
I know the front of the frames is different. The 67's and some early 68's had a wider section where the engine sits. Also no indent for power steering. Frame mounting should be the same though. Im sure others will chime

Re: frame difference?
for what you are asking, yes, you can install your early sheet metal on the later fram. The 69 and up is actually stronger acordiong to the dealers notes i have.

Re: frame difference?
I JUST BOUGHT A REAL NICE 1972 C-10 BARE FRAME AND I WAS SURPRISED HOW FLIMSEY IT WAS WHEN I loaded it on my car trailer. almost made me want to install the 3/4 ton or 1 ton frame instead. i bet when i cut my c-notch i,ll really have to be careful about distorsion and install some braceing back in to restore its strength.

Re: frame difference?
3/4 ton frame is almost the exact same... just a few added braces here and there.

Re: frame difference?
the rad support mounts are different between a 67 and a 69 frame as well. No big deal, you'll just need to use the later style rubbers.

Re: frame difference?
Bob,
frames are made to flex, otherwise they would crack after years of twisting and off camber bumps and dips.:chevy: |
