Re: help me decide
I like the 400, but it does take more juice to turn it than a 350. Are you talking serious hp? Something you are planning to enter into drags?
All comes down to preference of what YOU like and have experience with. Might be a tad bit easier to get a driveshaft for the 400 though.. |
Re: help me decide
Could you clarify about the TH400 with o/d?Also,what kind of hp are we talking?Lots of torquey motors came with 3spd manuals behind them.I`ve never liked them, myself. But,they can take alot more than many give credit for.I like a TH350 over a TH400 unless you are talking strickly track-use serious hp or a truck that hauls alot of weight.Th400s scrub off hp to shift.

Re: help me decide
The 400's have a taller first gear than the 350's which is why the 350's launch better. But, you have a 4.11 rear gear. If you have the 400 and it's built, then my question is....what is the question? To my way of thinking, and since I have a TH400 in my truck with 3.23's....the fact that you have a built 400 AND a 4.11 gear....says no issues exist. Just put the 400 in it and go. There will be a difference in the driveshaft length, with the 400 taking a slightly longer shaft than the 350.

Re: help me decide
that is the first I have ever heard that. The 700 is closer to the TH350 than it is the TH400 as far as strength and durrability goes.
