Finally Some Pictures of My 68'.....

Here are some pictures I took of my 68 today. It is just your everyday classic rite now. It has a 305/350 combo, Disc brakes from a 72 chevy. It has 10 inch Enkies, all around. So let me know what you guys think. If possible can some one show me how it would looked lowered, by photoshoping it.

Looks like a great start of a truck!

By the way, did I ever say I hate you western guys for all the nice rides you folks can find! ;)

Ahaha... This truck is great. You are looking at it, like i have seen it for the past 18 years. The only thing that really has changed is that it doesnt have the original 6 with 3 on the tree anymore, and power steering. But there is just a little rust problem in the rockers, but all of these trucks have that problem.

Good looking truck, I like the rear bumper and that it does not have a lot of chrome.

It looks like it is a solid truck with a lot of potential.

Have fun with it.

Yeah Thanks. I have heard that this rear bumper was an option when these trucks were sold. But the man who told me this, said that the one on this truck looks different then the optional one. So I'm thinking that somebody built this bumper and put it on. And yes it is a very solid truck.

Very nice original truck! I love the 67-68's. What are your plans with it?

My plans with it are endless. I have had the truck for 18 years now. I really want to lower it on its nutz :metal: and paint it trim black, like my son is doing to his cadillac. I also want to limo tint the windows to give it that stealth look. I'm thinking about bags but that is just another thought in the air rite now.

Much lower; an air bag drop chop, and I did some shaving while I was at it. White space at top is the amount of the drop, fwiw.

Looks like a perfect starting point!

It's amazing how many of these "west coast" trucks have survived in such decent conditions.

thanks.. these rims and tires were given to me buy one of my friends brother. he pulled up one day and asked if i wanted these rims and tires 'cause he was on the way to the dump to toss them. u know what i said!, hell yeah. I thought they were some ugly p.o.s. 'cause i hadn't seen them before. so I grabbed them out of his truck and my son and I put them on my truck within a 1/2 hour or so!!! actually I put them on my 79 GMC, before I put them on my 68 chevy, and rolled on them for about 1 year.

Bringing this post back up for my dad. Damn he just got hit in it the front passanger side is bad, we think the frame is bent i will get pictures up soon. Looks like if we land up getting some insurence money i will be redoing some work on this 68. Hopefully we get the money id rather do the work then have the shop do it but if the frame is bent going to have to let a shop do it. I will keep this thread updated. Wish us luck.

If frame is bent, replace it yourself. Frames can be had pretty cheap.

Re: Finally Some Pictures of My 68'.....

thats what i will do but we are still waiting too see what the shop says about the frame, If so then looks like we will be doing a frame up build on the 68.

yea there basically telling us that already.. Sucks but i guess its a good chance to give it a new roller 350 with a 700r4 combo, and all new suspension. Well see where this takes us.
