I'm just gonna freak out, k?
 

So, as some of you know, my truck's frist show is this Friday at the Sacramento Autorama. It's going to be appearing in ARC Audio's booth at the show and will be seen struttin' with some super high end cars.

The set-up day for the show (I thought) was Thursday afternoon at around 4pm. I was at the shop that did the install on the stereo system yesterday and the guys from ARC Audio were telling them that they were trying to set everything up today at 4pm, not tomorrow.

So now I had 24 hours less to work on the truck and get it ready, so I made the decision to go straight from work, to my parents' place where I had planned to detail the truck. I get off @ 2am, sleep is for the weak, or sane, one of the two...

Anyway, I had laid down some blue painter's tape on the freshly painted rocker panels in order to protect them from any rock chips before the show. When I pulled the tape from the driver's side panel, the paint came with it. It was as if the new paint hadn't attached itself to the primer that was laid down.

Truck made an emergency trip to the body shop this morning at around 7am. 4 out of 10 of their employees called in sick today, and I still need to buff out the wheels and detail the interior before 4pm tomorrow. I probably won't get the truck back before 9am.

You going to be at the show all weekend? I might stop by on Sat. and check it out. Don't stress about the show. Please don't take offense, but I don't think anyone expects a vendor display vehicle to compete with the cars in the show.

Hey, good luck! Don't trip too hard, I'll try to make it out there on friday. Last time I didn't see alot of trucks, 'course I was short on time and didn't get to walk around alot. Any ideas of where you will be set up?

This is weird, just read another topic on Carjunkieforums (Freiburger's new gig) about a guy frantically getting his ride ready (after a non-sealed battery incident) to be in a vendor display at the Sacramento Autorama.

Wow, weird...

Everything turned out OK guys. I got the truck back early this morning and then frantically detailed it. I had to finish the detail work at the show after the truck was set up.

My truck is SO out of place in those building. Right next to it is a '65 Malibu that they want $125k for. To the right is a 1960 Station Wagon with more than $200k into it. Next to that is a '65 Impala with a twin turbo 409 and a $100k sound system. Just infront of that car, is a brand New Gallardo and a new Shelby Mustang. Next to the Impala is a Nova and an El Camino, which are both some of the nicest vehicles I have seen to date.

Basically, every car in the building has more money in the sound system than my entire truck is worth...

Don't feel bad dude. Someone obviously felt your truck was worthy of being there. Congrats on getting it all done and detailed in time. I bet it was a thrash.

So, my Aunt called me this morning. Turns out my truck was on TV. Some of the local stations ran a few shots of it today. Kinda cool.

The truck is there all weekend. I'll be @ the show most of the weekend as well. Only time I left today was to eat dinner with my dad.

Show went well. Only had one instance where I got mad at a spectator for lifting my hood and taking a peek.

Got invited to another show with ARC Audio. I'm on cloud 9 right now.

I was there, but I wasn't sure exactly who to look for :lol: The truck looked awesome, but I could tell you drive yours farther than just to a trailer. Other than being surronded by half million dollar cars, your truck looked great.
