How to dispose of a fuel tank in San Antonio

Just replaced my fuel tank/sending unit/etc. and was wondering if anyone in S.A. knew if there were anything special (besides draining it) I had to do to dispose of it, assuming I can even do so.??

put it out front and lean it against a tree with a "For Sale" sign. it should be gone in a day or 2.

I filled mine with water and let it sit, then cut it in half with my saw all, then it was off to the scrap yard. If you don't want to go thru that, then if you have a hazrdous waste recycle center, they normally accept them.

Put a couple gallons of gas in it and let it lay on the front lawn--WaaaaLLaaa it is gone.

all these comments are localized. Some places the state requires the scrap yards take it for free, some states have no opinion, and the yards make there own rules... cut it in half, cut it in quarters.. etc.
Just call the scrap yard, and you'll know exactly what your yard wants you to do.
