no brake lights?

I got a 72 blazer that i installed a new summit wiring harness into almost a year ago, everything has worked great, I just recently swapped it from a 4speed to an auto, changed the pedals and column too, this is where i think i may have lost them.

Everything works except the brake lights, hazards, turn and tail. I just swapped out the turn signal witch today thinking that was my problem since i got power to the brake light switch at the pedal. I have also tried a jumper wire to bypass the switch, no go. I have 1157 bulbs in there now and they are in good condition. HELP!!!

It sounds like the rear wire loom plug on the inside of the firewall might have come unplugged. It is above the accelerator pedal and has four wires going to it. Light green, dark green, brown, & yellow. Make sure it is plugged in all the way.

Re: no brake lights?

even with a universal, the plug wouldn't be the issue.
The problem will be somewhere between the fuse box and the tirn signal switch.
Since you have power to the brake light switch, and jumped it, this removes that switch from the system. Also, since you just replaced the turn signal switch, we'll assume that one of the two turn signal switches are good (probably both of them are)
I would trace the wire from the brake light switch, to the turn signal switch, looking for damage, and also, jump the brake light switch again, and check for power where the brake light wire goes into the turn signal switch. Odds are, your problem is in that wire.
This universal switch, did it involve cutting and crimping to install the factory style plugs? If so, check for power after everry butt connector in the series.

good call longhorn, I was checking out the wiring diagram and the white wire on the moon connector had pulled apart, got it soldered up good and she is working again
