Let me get this straight, you starting giving someone your money to pay for a blazer you hadn't seen and to someone you hadn't met???

I hate to be an ass but you're asking for trouble with that. If I was going to rip someone off i'd come off as nice and friendly as possible too, then take their money.

I'm not asking you how much your payments were or anything but I hope they weren't much cuz you might be out that money now.

I bought my Lexus this way, as well as my new bike. I and other people buy vehicles over the internet every day. It's easy to just say your a fool as soon as something goes wrong, (hindsight is 20-20....etc.). For the most part these types of deals don't go bad, but then there's always a few bad apples in every basket.

I have bought and sold on ebay a lot, but payments long distance is risky, but as you said it is easy to say that now. The best thing to do is call the PD in NC with the contact info and see if they will do a contact. With the economy as it is this guy could have fallen on hard times, but no excuse for dropping off the face of the earth. Call the local PD and go from there, any proof you have been sending him $$$$, cancelled checks, etc?? You may not need it, but prepare for the worst and pray for the best. Good Luck!! There are members within that vacinity, but I'd guess a PD/sheriff is the best idea in case this guy is down on his luck, as he may not appreciate people showing up looking for $$$ or a vehicle.

Whew! I finally found out where it was - it's about 3 hours or better, east of me... maybe a bit more. Sure glad it's starting to mesh for you... it'd be hunting season before I get that far east this year.

I would NEVER conduct business that way! You have no recourse if you do get ripped.

I've bought vehicles of the internet also, but this is the damnedest thing I've ever heard...

Good luck, Rg

I have/had three of his contact numbers so I could check in every month (home, work, cell). I called his work, he doesn't work there anymore, I called his home, it's disconnected, I called his cell, it goes straight to voicemail (left a few polite and friendly messages). It's been two days and I haven't heard back yet so I'm starting to get a little worried, not saying I've ben jacked yet, but getting worried. Someone's gotta help me please.

You were the one worried or you would'nt have made this Post, If you are so Trusting you should have waited a Little longer........

I have made numerous Vehicle Purchase's over the net & Have finally learned my Lesson , I Will Never make another Purchase sight unseen.............

Glad all went well for You.............

Re: North Carolina emergency

Here's my thing. I know you insist that the guy is credible and that's your business but if I were to purchase a vehicle over the internet it would be worth it for me to pay the few hundred bucks for a plane ticket to go 1: see the vehicle in person and 2: meet the person i'm about to fork over cash to.

Another thing is this. Lately (well for a while now actually) another forum member has had pictures of his blazer taken and used on Ebay and now craigslist to lure poor unsuspecting suckers in and make them believe they are buying a blazer when in fact all they are doing is sending money to a guy who probably has never owned a blazer in his life but has plenty of pics posted online to persuade others he does. When you made your post I immeadiately thought of that and figured you got ripped by him or someone like him.

So should you be weary of buying vehicles online from people you don't know??? YES.

I'm not attacking you or putting you down, just saying that fraudulent car sales do happen and it's been occuring alot lately with the one blazer I mentioned above so that's why I thought you had got ripped off.

I have good rapport with most the guys on here, some of them I've been talking to for years. But I wouldn't trust them with my money or my beer cooler!

I'm glad it's worked out for you, but it is risky whether you want to admit it or not...

Yeah all original. Came with the manufacturers warranty pamphlet with the original buyer's/owner's signature and info on it. You should see the list of stuff on the sticker in the glove box. Anyways There is little to no rust on the actual tub which is what I've been looking for. $7,000.00

Does it say special promotional pkg on the SPID (sticker inside the glovebox door). I think it's a highlander. If it is, I can only think of one other blazer on here that is.

I drive all my vehicles regularly. Since I am going to drive it regularly, I am eventually going to swap in a more modern drive train. Also beef up the running gear with one ton axles from one of those military salvage places. Lift it about 4 or 6 inches, really just the normal stuff, nothing too over the top. I'm not in a big hurry but I will work on it steady, my main love is my 240Z. I'm just glad I finnaly have the truck I've always wanted, the 72 blazer. When I get off this afternoon I'll take a picture of the glovebox sticker for the poor spectator.
