What are you guys doing for speakers?

I made a post in the audio section, but wanted to ask my fellow blazer owners.

mine came with some oval boxed speakers on the forward slope of the rear wheel wells.

i've been thinking about a sound bar from a j**p wrangler. it would be way too narrow, but depending on what it's constructed of, stretching it out in the middle might be doable.

I went with the teardrop fiberglass kick panels from a guy on my site
and I am going to mold / build a box for the rear. (Design is a secret)

Re: What are you guys doing for speakers?

i own an audio shop here in bend oregon and have a 72 4x4 blazer. i have a full demo system on the way sonsisting of jl audio 7.7" marine component speakers(sound incrediable and water resistant), jl marine amps, and jl 10" marine subs...in case i get caught in a storm.

i first built the console and was building the speakers in pods that would attach to custom door pannels to match the console curves...im doing two pair per side...to much midbass for the doors to handle. now im going to build the speakers into kick pannel pods that will give great imaging and wont rattle the doors off. im not a fan of cutting the material so i will fiberglass the floor/kicks and build from there.

look at fiberglassforums.com they have worldwide knowledge base.

good luck

This is what I did: I went with marine grade stuff too. My husband made me the stand so the amp would sit up off the floor & console bolts on top ( makes it alot easier when washing out the interior). Put 5.5" Polks in the side of the console & 6x9s in the rear side panels. It all sounds pretty good but could still use a little more thump. I want to add one of those subs with built in amp that looks like a nitrous bottle. But that would be kind of goofy in a truck with a worn out motor, so think I'll wait!
