Fuel Line Help
 

Hey Guys, i kinked my metal line going to my edelbrock 1901 carb. on my 327, i want to replace it with a steel braided line and a inline filter(from the fuel pump to the carb.) My question is, how do AN fittings work with steel braided lines, do they thread into the line or clamp? Also can anyone help me pick the right parts or suggest something good? cutting braided lines and putting an lines on is a pain in the a**, buy a kit that has every thing cut to length. i think edelbrock make everything you need

http://store.summitracing.com/largei...g=edl-8134.jpg this is what I just got.I cut my braided steel hose with a sharp chisel and a large hammer.I put a block of wood down,set the hose on it and gave it a good smack...it cut it very smooth with no fraying of the braided stainless.Made it real easy to put the an-6 fittings on

hey james, you put your filter and such on yet? I'd like to see a pic of it all together, I just put my fuel pump on last night and I plan on starting the plumbing this weekend on the new engine. I was looking at steel braided lines for the fuel system and trans. cooling lines. thanks.

I bought braided lines by the foot and made all my own lines with an fittings. I only had one small leak after I started the motor and it was on the lines that attach directly to the carb and I did not make those I bought the kit so go figure. I used those fitting on my motor everywhere I could and knock onm wood no leaks...

That looks awesome!! I have the same March Serpentine kit too. I never messed with the DIY braided stuff before. What all is involved?

Well i think im gonna go back with the filter in the carb, now i jus need the line, big al, how do the fittings go on the hose?

The way it works is they are push in and then as you tie them against the other end it creates a leakproof seal.
I used both styles the push on and the screw in type...I used them on my tranny lines on the tranny side as well as on the cooler side and you can also see it from the fuel pump to the filter to the carb. Also I used braided line with fitting from the tank to the pump. I am posting a couple of picts so you can get an idea.
