NOS exterior door handles question

Recently purchased a pair of NOS door handles. Seller stated that GM shipped the driver side handle with the chrome push button and spring loose. I received the handles and there is no backing plate to mount to the back of the push button to hold it into place. Even if it came with backing plate I am not sure how I would attach it? They are GM parts with the part # on the handle. Anyone had any experience like this with NOS handles? I am inclined to return them at this point. Pic below.

I saw those on Ebay too, and was leary of them because of the push button not being installed. I have a set of NOS handles, and they were NOT shipped from GM with the button removed. Was the seller "purepony?" I cannot remember who was selling them, but if it was him, he is cool, and will take them back. Hope this helps.

Yea, the seller is purepony. I have asked to return the handles or work a deal to keep the passenger side only. He is a good e-bayer of NOS stuff.

I'd return at least the one handle.I bought 2 door relays from him and they were both left hand.He offered to take them back or take one back, but I ended keeping them both, just incase. He seems to be a real decent guy though.:chevy:

Why can't you just take the guide plate off another handle and use it. I have four originals and they all look like you can remove that guide plate.
