1st Anyone have any ideas or recommendations on how to go about replacing the top of my windshield frame since it is pretty rusted? I cant find any place that sells that part ? or even the whole frame? would something have to be fabricated? 2nd question I really need some kinda rear swing out tire carrier i a guessing one has to be made I know 0 about metal fabrication or where to even find one in my area i was hoping someone somewhere made one and may atleast have the plans for it ? I found some pics of a awesome rear bumper with tire carrier and gas can holder and Hi lift jack carrier and that would solve ALL of my problems if i can find one of these (See pics) I would love to have something like this built for my blazer. Thank you all in advance Shaun A. |

You cant buy windshield frames new. The link is to a blazer windshield frame that someone is selling on the board.

Re: 1971 Blazer 4x4 questions :) (Rust) (Tire Carrier) (Bumper) (Fabrication)
To replace the windshield frame, you'll need to find a rust free donor. If you become a subscribing member, you can post a wanted to buy thread. If you do a search, there are a few threads from board members who have documented how they replaced their windshield frame.
If you can't fabricate your own bumper/tire carrier, you'll either need to find a used one like lks dcvn has or find someone to fabricate one for you. Again, using the search function will give you some results of what other board members have done. BobbyK and Burt4x4 are the two that come to mind. There is a place in Burbank called the GM Truck Center (http://gmtruckcenter.com/) that "restores" GM trucks. One board member had his truck done there many years ago. It turned out nice, but I know he spent a lot of money there. I know there are a ton of other good shops in the SoCal area. |

OK, I don't know who's blue blazer that is, but that rear bumper is PERFECT!! I need to know who built that thing & if he'll build me one or at least give me some drawings of the thing!! I love it.
Thanks, Buddy |

No buying & selling here guys, especially if you're not a subscriber. Buying & selling is for the parts board only.

Re: 1971 Blazer 4x4 questions :) (Rust) (Tire Carrier) (Bumper) (Fabrication)
No that is a post saying that I agree with him. You've been a member here for long enough to know the rules about buying and selling. I would appreciate a little less abuse of the staff, a little more following of the rules and capitalism only on the parts boards.

Pay your money and you can put whatever you wish in your sig. Until then you should stop arguing with staff forum.
