1967 Chevrolet Truck Deluxe Heater Questions

What was the difference in 1967 trucks between a deluxe heater and a standard heater. My truck has a two speed heater so does that mean standard was only one speed?

Re: 1967 Chevrolet Truck Deluxe Heater Questions

there was only one heater, and one heat-a/c avalible.
67 was the first year for heat being standard in Gm trucks. However, in 67 the dealers were instructed to place it on the order, if it wasn't specified, it wasn't installed. Psaicly, it was treated like a no cost option.

Thanks for the quick reply! When i read deluxe heater i thought maybe i had something special, even thought it takes forever for the cab to warm up.

Interesting, never knew a heater was an option in the past. Wonder how many would have been sold without a heater. I can see a/c as an option but just never knew that about the heater. I do laugh when I learned that the passenger visor was an option and not always standard equip.

Even later, there were things that wer optional that you'd kinda wonder about.
A little off topic, but when my we came back stateside from germany in '76, by dad went to the chevy dealer and bought his first (and last) new car. For 3400 bucks, he got a '77 Chevette scooter. 77 was the first year that the rear seat was standard equipment... however, the glove box door was optional. The little lever on the inside rearview mirror... the day/night lever... that too was an option. They stripped the crap out of those things. His was hipped with zero options on it, and he had them remove the radio delete plate, and install a dealer installed unit that broke 3 years later.

My truck has only one sunvisor on the drivers side and I think it never came with a radio. My uncle installed a am/fm radio out of a VW in 1978 When he bought the truck from the PO because it only had a plate where the radio goes.
