Intake Carb Mock Up

Well I bought a Clifford intake from 64swb....thank you.

Then I purchased a 390cfm Holley Carb and air cleaner.

Now keep in mind the manifold did not look as clean as it shows in these pictures. But after about 2 days of working on it I just about have it shinning!

Okay the last picture is of the close up of the studs.

Let me know if you think its too short. As I can only get a bolt on it and not a washer so I might have to go with one a bit longer.

Can't wait until its on the engine! :metal:

So what do you guys think of the air filter?

You sure have it lookin smooth. You going to get a Clifford split exhaust manifold to go with it? I do like the sound of the straight 6 with split pipes and packs. ;)

Oh and on the studs. Do you already have the gaskets on it too? If not I imagine you will need longer studs by maybe 1/4 or 3/8 inch.

Looks good,It even looks like the Air cleaner will miss a PB booster.Do you have headers to go with?
Also where did you find a 390 Carb?

Re: Intake Carb Mock Up

If you look close enough on one of the pics there is a set of headers in the box by Flowtech.

Also going to be using 21/4" X-pipe from Jegs as well.

Should sound good, just have not decided on what mufflers to use yet.

It looks like you're going to need longer studs.
You should have at least a couple of threads all the way through, & out the top side of the nuts.

 yeah that's pretty much it. Just a lot of work with the electric drill and a 120 grit orange wire brush. After a few more touch ups will seal it with Eastwood Extreme Diamond Clear & then use Carb Renew Bronze Aerosol on the Holley Carb to seal it up and keep it all looking shiny & new.

The Holley Carb I bought from Spider Performance Automotive along with the air cleaner. They had the cheapest prices, even better than the big JEGS performance store.

Man, that really looks good. I've got other priorities right now, but I hope to have my same setup that sweet-looking by summer time.

Good looking setup you have there. For carb studs, check out the Spectre brand from Your local Auto Zone. Their a tad longer than the Mr. Gasket kind and they have a hex head on the end of them to make installation easier.
