4.3? That can be a ***** of a swap. You don't get too far into it when you realize that GM put the drivetrain in, and then the body on. Some of the bolts are a HUGE pain the @ss.

Edit:
Forgot to add, even with the PITA factor, still an awesome deal.

I'll take that deal anyday, even with the PITA factor!!! Great Score!!!( except for those "terminator" tail lights.) ;)

go to the parts store and get plenty of patients. Like I have always said, nothing to me is harder than the other . Just some projects are more time consuming. Biggest thing for me is the wobble extentions and the woble sockets I mentioned earlier, that would be for mostly the trans bell housing bolts. I pulled a 4.3 out of a GMC Sonoma around thanksgiving, wasn't that bad. it just took me longer than ususal. If you have access to air tools they can be a blessing for some of those hard to reach bolts.

ive been out of s10's for awhile, but im pretty sure 95 was the crossover year for the engines and body style, i think 94 and 95 was the only year for that specific 4.3 if i remember right

Im not able to have the truck delivered until next Saturday, 2/15... thats when my buddy with a ramp truck can go and get it, its 70 miles from me. but when it gets here Ill keep you posted on the progress

Do yourself a favor and pull off the front clip. You'll thank yourself. Also unbolt the driver side body mounts and jack the body away from the frame a few inches. Then put some blocks in there to hold it in place. Trust me, I've been there.;)

second gens arent that different from first gens, me and my old man had my 4.3 and trans out in once piece with only taking the hood off. It didnt take any longer than pulling a v8. but pulling atleast the core support makes life easier. But i dont feel there is any need to lift the body, however i do know its common practice with trans shops for pulling just the trans out

Re: check out what I picked up today

On mine the only problem we ran into pulling the engine was right as the tailsshaft cleared the firewall, the crank pulley caught the very top lip of the core support and out engine leveler wouldnt slant anymore however with a little wiggle of the tailshaft it came right out. But when we put the v8 in, we pulled the core support. It went in easily. And then after 4 days of driving it i pulled the front clip back off, pulled the engine adn trans and ordered a new th350 b/c i destroyed the 700r real quickly lol. Good luck, i look forward to pics and progress.
