WTB-Very nice original Air Cleaner Housing for a "70" 402 BB

Hey guys...I am in the market for a very nice original factory air cleaner housing for my 402 BB. Rusty and dented units need not apply. This will be used on the "Circuit Rider"...Someday. ;) Thanks

Is there any difference between a 350 one, and a 402 one?? I believe I have an original 402 one, let me dig through the parts bin and I'll let you know. What are you looking to spend? thanks

Goooooood question...lets ask all those experts on parts pricing. What is the condition of the air cleaner?

Do you know if there's a difference between a small block one? if not, i have a pretty good idea on pricing.

The air cleaners/spacers are the same. It is the stovepipe/heat shield that are different.

thanks, that's what I thought. 70cst, do you need just the air cleaner, or do you need the stove pipe and shield, too? I don't have the stove pipe/shield, but I have a repainted black air cleaner that's pretty nice. let me know. thanks

Good luck finding the pipe and shield. These are some of the hardest parts for these trucks to find. The original pipe for my 71 was gone when I got it and it took two years to find one- then it was a "c" note to get it. Five years later I found a shield to replace the rusted out original. You might try gary terry- CS-m he might have one, or try uncle, but I have not seen him on the board for a while. Back to the top and good luck.

I've got a 72 BB coming in this weekend, not sure whats all still on it. I know it has the pipe, not sure about air cleaner or how good the heat shield is, has all AC brackets, and ALt brackets. Thanks Randy

I believe the spacer for the big-block is taller than the small block. The photo shows the 3" tall spacer for the BBC and the other spacer shown I believe is from a small block. The parts won't fit properly without the taller spacer. I do have a few extra pieces if needed.

Both my 72's have the 3" spacer. One is a small bock, one is a big block. I have never seent the 2" spacer before...

The 3" spacer (PN 3976256) is for both 350 and 402. I stand Erected, I mean Corrected. I don't know what the 2" spacer is from.

Maybe the 2" spacer was used on cars (where hood clearance is a bigger issue).
