I have a 250 and a 4 speed out of a 69 c-10. The motor spins but I have not had it running. It is complete from carb to pan except the air cleaner. $100 no shipping . reply in thread if interested. Thanks , Bob

No... as I'm not even sure what I'm thinking...

I think I'll let this go on to the next person in line, but if you still have this in a little while I might be truly interested. I'm actually not sure what I would do with it, but it's just to good of a deal to let it go to the dump. :D

Great buy!!!

As an added bonus... just so you know, my 250 is getting 21mpg. No lie! Now who wouldn't want that?

Re: 69 250 inline and 4 speed

Bob is storing this an issue?

Maybe Tim, you and I can work out something and I could get it a little closer for him. I was considering the motor just for something to tinker with and maybe rebuild in the future, but wasn't going to need the tranny. It would be a month (or maybe longer) before I could make it up there.

If storing is an issue... no big deal, that's why I wanted to pass it onto someone else if they truly needed it.

Re: 69 250 inline and 4 speed

I bought a nice trick from Challst here on the site for my daughters first car and it was originally a 4 spd. I have everything I need and even a 4-spd but it is a NP and if I had this it would be a very direct replacement to what was in there.
I have no way to store or retrieve the equipment up in IA so i was hoping he would box it up and ship it UPS or common carrier to me but I realize that is a hassle so with that said i would of course pay him what he wanted for the tranny and the shipping plus what he thought it was worth to take the time to box up etc.
No doubt he isnt going to ship a whole engine and tranny combo so what were you thinking?
BTW I am in extreme S.E. St. Louis, County
Tim

Storing it is not an issue if you want it let me know . You are first in line and if you want me to split it for you guys I would say $50 for the motor and $25 for the trans. As far as payment I can wait till you come get it . If you guys want to get together and make one payment that's fine with me . Let me know . Bob

Re: 69 250 inline and 4 speed

Tim I was considering getting it as far as JC and if you would be willing to pick up the tranny we could try to work something out.

Bob, in your best judgement... do you think this motor is rebuildable?

Bob 68327 04-02-2009 05:37 PM

Re: 69 250 inline and 4 speed

I'm pretty sure it would run with a ballast and possibly a coil . It turns over free no noises and the oil looks good and it still has antifreeze in the block . So I would say yes it's rebuildable . Tell ya what if you get it apart and it's no good let me know and I will give you your money back .

Did you ever get rid of the motor? I'm interested in the carb for parts. Thanks!
