here ya go. sorry it took so long for me to upload them. but basically what i did was use black silicone(can be found at home depot) and every spot where the rust was in the cowl i just layered it on, and after a few tries i got the cowl sealed up, and after that i layered on a thick coat of primer to seal it just a little more. as a final test i got a garden hose and let it sit n the cowl running and i moved it all over. and the cab was bone dry! so it worked and my new insulation and floor mat are in! heres the links to the pics: http://jamandjoe.bravehost.com/001.JPG http://jamandjoe.bravehost.com/003.JPG |

Re: cowl leak
I ran into some small rust when I was under the dash fixing the A/C-heater door controllers. I discovered that the water was coming in from the sheet metal seams under the leaf guard right in front of the windshield. There's a trough under there that lets you get to a few things and also lets water pass through to drain out at the bottm somewhere. For some reason, those weren't sealed properly at the factory I guess. No reason for them to start leaking since they are spot welded on assembly. I got some paste-form seam sealer and a putty knife and resealed all the way across best I could. I told the jackass painter to be sure and repaint over those seams and of course, he lied to me. Said he did but obviously did not. But, with the screen on, you cannot see down in there. Pizzed me off just the same.
