Suspension question...
 

Hey guys, I'm building my suspension and have a couple of quick questions...

1) I'm simply using the drop coild to give my C10 the stance I want. 5" in the back and 2 1/2 in the front. What size springs should I buy for the front?

2) What size shocks for the front and rear?

i dont THINK you can get a 2.5" drop SPRING you can get a spindle....you could go 2" 5" or they MIGHT make a 3" front drop spring......get pics im interested in how much drop it give..(pic wise)

You can get three inch front springs. I always use the Summit brand springs, part number SUM-G727. When you get them and open the box, you will find they are Ground Force brand that Summit reboxes and sells as their own store brand.

Tx Firefighter, thats a good tip on the Summit Shocks. I'll be placing my order there for shocks. Thanks. Love the build thread:metal:

you'll need shorter shocxcks in the rear plus a shock relocation kit and of coursae the adjustable panhard bar so you can center the rear end

Look no further than Early Classic Enterprises (ECE), as they will have everything you will need.

Check out my build thread in my signature for the install of a 4.5/6" ECE drop kit.

One thing you will need to consider.... if you are wanting a 2.5" drop in the front and decide to use a spindle, you will need to upgrade to disc brakes. Don't worry though, as this is covered in my build thread as well. :D

Also, once you get the kit on, you will always want to go lower. :D

If you get the dropped spindles from ECE, or just about any other supplier, you'll be doing a conversion to disc brakes. W/O doing that conversion, then lowering springs are your option. As far as ECE is concerned, you can get another inch of lowering by using their one-lower spring with their spindles, for a total of 3.5 inches. 5 inches in the rear will look good, too. You gotta watch going too low in the rear because of interference between the drive shaft and the crossmember that the rear trailing arms attach to. You can get another crossmember, and ECE has those, too.

ChevLoRay is correct. I wouldn't go any lower than a 6" spring for a daily driver.

As far as the shocks, ECE offers a KYB gas shock which provides an excellent ride.
