Possible Scam Alert

I was browsing through the Orange County and Los Angeles, California Craigslist and came upon what looks to be Green Monster's Blazer for sale....again, but this time not on Ebay. If this is a legitimate add, I apologize for the call-out, but it looks to me like a scam. It has the same old pictures that were used on Ebay. Asking price is $4000. There is an e-mail addy in the add. I have not tried to contact the "seller".

To find the add, search the Orange County, California Craigslist and search "Blazer". The add is run several times under different subject lines, but all have an asking price of $4000. I'm just trying to look out for our K5 community.

Re: Possible Scam Alert

Some folks on the truck forum have said it was also on the Denver and Kansas City Craigslist. Must be a scam. Looked too good to be true.

Re: Possible Scam Alert

I did email the guy to find out where the blazer was in California and this was the email returned to me.

The truck is still for sale. It is in perfect shape. It has no scratches, dents and it was never involved in an accident or something like that. The VIN is CKE182S11917. It has 72000 miles.
I have a clear title and it is on my name. Why is the price so low? I'm in Glasgow (United Kingdom) with my new work and I cannot register the truck here, as it is made for USA, according to USA standards. So all that I want to do now is to sell the truck at this price, because I need to sell it fast(I already made a deposit here to buy me another).
My final price is $4000. I already have tons of emails so I hope you understand that I need to sort them out. I will take in consideration only those buyers who are really interested in buying the truck, to be sure that I don't waste my time with endless discussions. This way, I shall be assured of the serious intentions.Let me know if you want to see more picture so i can send them to you
Thank you.

P.S. If you are decided to buy it, I can make a private auction just for you on eBay so you can purchase it there. That way you will receive assistance for the purchase, paperwork, title transfer and an extended warranty. They also are guaranteeing purchases up to 50.000 so we will both be protected.

I had a 2003 Cobra when I was selling it someone used the vin number off of the carfax and was screwing people all over the state taking deposits for the car. The car looked like the real thing but the person did not have the car I did. Took a couple of months to clear my name and clear up the dmv.
DONT GET SCREWED BY THIS GUY.

Re: Possible Scam Alert

I just got literally the same e-mail cause my friend really wanted it, the mention of the 50,000 dollar insurance and private auction is a dead give away. This is you classic scam. You give the guy 50,000 cause thats the least the "escroe" company will do. You send that off he keeps it you never get your truck or you money back.

Re: Possible Scam Alert

Yes I would like to rub his teeth off on the curb...A few years ago I sold my motor home to a guy who said he was from canada but turned out he was from NIGERIA he sends me 15.000 and I was only asking 10.00 so he calls me and says the the transport guy that is coming to my house needs to be paid when he shows up so then I dont hear from the guy for about a week or so and in the mean time the checks clear and I told the manager of my bank that it didnt sound rite to me and make damn sure these checks are good. the guy calls me back and says the transport co. has to be paid in advance and could I send him the extra 4.000 or so back to him so I tell the guy ill wait two more weeks and if everything is OK ill let him pick up the RV and send him his cash. So after the checks had been cleared for more than 21 days I sent the guy 4.000$ he never called back. About ten days after this the bank tells me the checks are no good an this is almost 40 days after the checks cleared plus the ten days they took to clear were talking 49 days and in the mean time im making house payments and car payments and all kinds of stuff and the bank tells me its not there fault...I know im an idiot but in my own defense this is when these type of scams were just showing up from nigeria...lIVE AND LEARN....and my wife the whole time is telling me dont do it and I tell her hell I got the money how can I lose ...Well I been married 23 years and it kills me but damn she's always rite....
