Minor Rust Treament?
 

I'm curious how other members of the forum would repair this. It's only a small portion of the rocker panel so it doesn't justify replacement of the whole piece. The photo isn't the best, this entire area was knee deep in body filler and the hole at the top is the worst of it. It does need repair but what? I can make several small patches of sheet metal? I don't have the tools to bend up a perfect replacement piece.

I would buy a cheapy repro rocker and cut what you need and weld it in and then bondo it up.

x3................I replace a lot of rockers because of the area I live in. If there's a small hole or most of the rocker is gone, replace it since it rusts from the inside out.
In your case, I would suspect that if you remove the filler from the rocker you would find it worst than what you can see. Replacements are cheap and it'll give you piece of mind that you know you have good rocker(s) on your truck.

that pretty much covers it...buy the new rocker, grind down to the metal on your new rocker and see how much you need to replace. imo, its better to change the whole thing anyways and leave you with some peace of mind that you know there is 0 rust there

Ok, I was hopping I could get away without replacing the rocker. The rockers are so inexpensive I'll just replace the hole part and be done with. Thanks for the input!
