Check out this C-30 Ramp truck...

I went yesterday evening to check out a truck from my local craigslist:

Thought I'd post up the pics / video I took, as it's a pretty clean truck and it has lots of potential; I've decided to pass on it, not what I need / want right at the moment; really looking for a 4x4 / 4spd.

He's asking $3500 - said he would sell for $3k

Details first: 1972 C-30 dually, long wheelbase, built with a ramp bed and two row tire rack. Glove box decal indicates an original chassis cab, was delivered to a converter for the bed installation. Originally orange. SM465 behind a 350. Stock heads, intake and carb. Bottom end is a left over built race motor, stout rods and pistons with a lumpy cam. Odometer shows 12.6k
Truck is also equipped with a fixed air system. Has two underbed tanks (about 80 or so gals I would estimate), in-cab pressure gauge, clutch switch and manual high idle lever. Compressor not on the truck but would be an easy install. Owner says the system would run impact wrenches etc when it was hooked up.
According to the owner, truck was built for and has been used at the Waterford CT Speedbowl it's entire life. Truck is presently registered in an off the road status - between race seasons.

This shows the worst rust in the entire truck, followed by very clean sheetmetal in the floors, cab supports and corners

I hate to break it to you, but it looks to be a rusty truck that has been patched up once or twice. The first thing you notice is the black lower color and the slip on rocker support in another pic.
Probably a good thing you are passing if you are looking for a clean starting point even though you don't see many trucks like that.

be an awesome truck for a race car team or transport service....once restored! you can always get another cab. the rear body and chassis should be easily restorable.

It's funny. Some guys on this board say "Well there's some rust but I can fix it" There are others if they see one rust blister on a rocker panel scream "Haul it to the wrecking yard!" Me... If I saw that truck I would run screaming. Guess us California guys can't stand a little rust.
