If it's true, that would be one unique truck with a little buffing. :D

Re: Ebay: '68 50th SWB 4x4
I saw one like that at Pomona a few yrs back. It was not a 4 x 4, but it had a big block and buddy buckets. Dude wanted almost 10 G for it!
This one looks like no reserve, which is cool. Hope someone gets it and restores it. |
Re: Ebay: '68 50th SWB 4x4
Something just doesn't look right to me though... the frame doesn't match up with the bed. Possibly Blazer frame?
Not saying it's not legit, but definitely a true find if it pans out. |
Re: Ebay: '68 50th SWB 4x4
The front hub looks like a later model, and the VIN on the jam does indicate 4 wheel drive.
Cheap enough, could be a sweet working truck again. |
Re: Ebay: '68 50th SWB 4x4
It looks legit to me. If it was a blazer frame, it would hitting the wheelwell. Most swb 4x4's tend to sit closer to the front like that instead of directly centered. This is a rare bird, would love to see someone get this from the board. Trevor

Re: Ebay: '68 50th SWB 4x4
I think it may be legit. It is a '68 or older frame (look at the steering box). I bet the rear wheel being off is from a busted main leaf or centerbolt. Not sure on the front axle, It's too cold and dark to go look at my bone pile to verify

Re: Ebay: '68 50th SWB 4x4
Received the truck from shipping. There was only one bolt holding the box on..cab bolts where all lose to. and does have a busted main leaf. Frame is straight and solid, no cracks, Everything is original on the truck except seat/ door panels..Trucks getting a frame off, as soon as I finish my two other trucks, 68 c10 swb, 72 gmc 402 swb. Keeping the 50th truck

50th in storage. Need to finish two more trucks first. lots of fun work though! I did come across a complete box full of NOS moldings, emblems, inner fenders, tailgate this past summer..and tracked down buddy buckets for it and correct year tow hooks for the 50th! Cant wait to start on it.
|
Re: Ebay: '68 50th SWB 4x4
Awesome, I couldn't wait to tear into it either. Are the tow hooks listed on the SPID? I hope you do a build thread.
Whats up with the galapagos turtle in the bed? |
Re: Ebay: '68 50th SWB 4x4
The tow hooks are not on the SPID. The buddy bucket are :)
