Turbo 350 question
As some of you know, the th-350 died in my 'burb.
I was talking to a friend of mine that said that the output shaft on the back of the TH-350 could be removed and replaced without disassembling the tranny. How is this done? The reason I ask is: I have a working TH-350 out of a 2 wheel drive, but the 4-wheel drive has a (much) shorter output shaft to go into the transfer case. Anyone know for sure? I thought that the tranny had to be disassembled in order to change the output shafts. |
output shaft
You are correct. You do have to tear into the trans but if you be careful its not hard. Just pull it apart keeping most of the assemblies together. Line the assemblies up on a bench the way they came out. Do this for both transmissions (on differnt benches) swap both tail shafts and reassemble.
