50th Anniversary Longhorn Progress
4 Attachment(s)
Well...off to the third painter now...LOL! First it was me, then ORENCE1, then Kenny Rasmussen, and now Andy. Andy will finish this project for sure. I've only got about $300 into the paint thus far so I not feeling badly...just wish I had more aggressive about getting the darned thing done. That's what happens when you get busy doing your wife's projects...NOW SHE IS GOING TO PAY...LOL!

Re: 50th Anniversary Longhorn Progress
Bob...just making progress...been so busy working that I have not even been on the board much. Rene, Thanks for the comments. Those are 8.25 x 16.5 wheels with 33x12.5's on the back and 31x10.5's on the front. That was the way they used to run the camper tires. I'm going with 33x12.5's all around on 9.75 x 16.5 rims. Wait until you see them!!!!

Re: 50th Anniversary Longhorn Progress
Good luck this time around!....sure to be a sharp truck!
Does anyone know production numbers on 50th Anniversary Longhorns? My grandpa has a '68 with a 327, A/C, buddy buckets, and even a matching '68 pickup bed camper...it truck has had one repaint (they left off the white....idk why...) but the interior and camper still look and smell like pristine '68. |

Re: 50th Anniversary Longhorn Progress
Lance, Stock colors...Anniversary Gold and white (Ivory). I want it bone stock in appearance with the exception of the big block 454 under the hood. I am also painting the engine compartment gold so there is a little deviation from stock.
Andy, Still a long ways to go. Sound insulation, finish the engine and all new wiring. I really want it on the road this summer. |
