Radio Nightmare
alright i have been working on my buddies 05 f150 for a total of 9 hours now the last 7 have been trying to figure this noise out..
first off right off the bat its a panasonic double din head unit worked great when it powered the speakers. he wanted to run mids and highs through a amp and a subwoofer on a seperate amp. no problem... install new RF speakers ran new RF wire to every one ran RF RCA's on passenger side Ran power wire and remote on drivers side.. grounds are all triple checked.. hooked it all up and i have a "whine" with the truck off figured it was amp gain.. turned it all the way down still barely there.. start the truck up i get alternator whine added to it.. i have pulled my truck up and ran my rca's to his speeakers sounds AMAZING. ran his rcas to my truck still sounds pretty good... even the dome light turning on and off is making noise. so now what get a noise suppresor or just run the new speakers thru the head unit my brains fried!?!?!? |
Re: Radio F'n Nightmare
put a ground loop isolator inline in both sets of rcas going from the head unit to the amps. or an old trick is to just ground the shield of the rcas.

Re: Radio Nightmare
yup ground the rca`s, monster cable has a seperate wire on e some of their rca cables to ground to the amp
