Drug home the 46'

Finally got around to picking up the 46'. It received some damage moving it around the yard until we picked it up. The body has some dings, but no really bad rust areas, just mainly surface in and out. Lots of "character" dings in it, but if we wind up doing something with it, it would most likely be the rat rod treatment. With out further delay, here are the pics you know you clicked on this thread to see:

Very cool. Is that a one ton?

I like the old fashioned hoist, it fits with the old fashioned truck. Whatever works, right? I've done it myself a few times. Looks to be a good project. Are you gonna keep the engine or swap in something newer?

Cool. Are you gonna do a fender-less Rat? I'm gonna end up going fender-less with my 39 because it's a 1.5 ton also. Those big wheel openings just don't look right with small diameter wheels.

yeah, we are thinking about going fenderless, but keeping the grille, cutting it down and just running the hood. Planning probably on a 350 with some big possibly homemade headers coming out and down the side. Also, probably running a 1947-52 bed.. . . as there is one in our town yard. It will probably be fenderless as well. Trevor

Wow, I'd go a totally different direction. Late model 1 ton running gear with a flatbed. V8, auto OD, 4 wheel discs, ps, pb and ac.

Paint would go back to stock black fenders and running boards, green body with the lighter burma green accent strip on the body. Black flatbed with wood sideboards and burma green pinstriping around the clearance lights on the bed corners. Forged aluminum dually wheels, 255/85 x 16 tires.
