I have these 3/4 length Sandersons I bought from ECE cheaper than you can get them from Sanderson. I think they were originally designed for a Camaro but they fit our trucks really well. It's a minor challenge to route the left side from the collector past the tranny shift linkage but it's doable. I've been running them now for about 7 months and the finish is holding up really well. The flange is machined so you don't have to run gaskets, only a little but of sealant. I used studs and have only had to tighten them once, right after the initial run, since then they have stayed tight. They were a little pricey but I firmly believe you get what you pay for.

Oh, btw, I run these boots to protect the wires. They work great. You can find them at Summit or Jegs or Speedway Motors...

Re: help! shorty headers
Just in case anyone is looking at these sandersons for a manual trans with a stock Z bar, they WILL NOT fit. The dump on these headers is right at were the Z bar comes across from the frame to the engine pivot....
Just hope this may help someone out as I had theese headers which were sweet but did not fit around my manual Z BAr.. |
Re: help! shorty headers
I'm also running the sandersons jholley is running. I've had them for about a year and a half now with no problems.

Re: help! shorty headers
NINERS1- can you measure the diameter of the tubes on the headers and post the size?. I have been told they are only 1.5" but the pic makes them look bigger. Thanks

Re: help! shorty headers
Yea, they are 1.5 ''. brought a 3'' hole saw home from work today to drill out my crossmember for my new pipes!!!
