I see a plan coming together! I knew you were excited, and when I saw this post my first thought was that you had gone into a frenzy and started on it already. So, what's the holdup? He-hee, just kiddin'! Can't wait to see it finished.

Wess, yout hought about caddy 500 power? If you don't already have the 45 laying around (which you probably do) it would be cheaper and waaayyyy cooler to go with the caddy motor. IMO anyways.

Cool, wish I knew how to do that. Now can you put wheels and tires on it? Having fun is what it is all about. Joker69

Cool, that looks Bad A$$! Know if you put that 402 or bigger BB in in back up with a well built 700R4 and 4.11's with posi and a really quite exhaust then you would have one hell of a sleeper!........ Just a thought. hehe

Way cool, Wes, the caddy motor would be pretty cool in that critter too. I'm seeing alot more flame paint jobs recently and have always thought they were neat.

Well as nice as it would be to have the Caddi engine, I don't have one.. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/board/ubbhtml/frown.gif However I do have a 68 GMC with a BB 396 with less than 2000 miles on the motor since rebuild for a doner. It also has an automatic transmission and power steering. So there is lots of good usable parts there. What I will be looking for in the near future is a 5 bolt rear with 3.73 or 3.07 possi and a front crossmember with 5 bolt disk brakes from a 71-72. I will have a 6 bolt possi not sure of the ratio, could be 4.11 for trading stock unless I find another doner truck cheap...LOL WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Ha Ha Ha, I do have a couple here don't I. lol None that have the parts that I listed, that I need. lol... I have several short wheel base trucks that eat up all the disk brake stuff that I can get my hands on. LOL I have yet to get a 5 bolt rear that is a 3.73 or 3.07 (prefer possi, but not that important) WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Ugh! Great ideas, but I'd go with a different body shop. They didn't do a very good job on those flames and the lettering. You'd think they'd be able to at least make the letters readable!

The old EVRYTHING IS BETTER WITH FLAMES anolgy. I agree FLAMES RULE, I also agree with the air ride suspension, complete stance control and better towing rate, how can you go wrong.

I like the Caddi engine idea also, but hey, I already have the 396 and it's a fresh one to boot. the 68 GMC was purchased for just sutch an occasion. I was going to use in in one of my short beds, but now that I have this.. What the heck.. It won't cost me much more money and I also have the 72 towers for ease of instalation. Some day maybe I'll go with the Caddi engine but I have to be practical for now. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com
