The Dash

For those who have dismantled or restored an interior. Are the steel dash removable in the suburban?

Like swapping out a Non-AC dash with and AC dash?

A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G is removeable!

Vintage air makes templates to cut the holes out... MUCH easier than swapping out the dash.

67-72 dashes have bolts on either side, but are welded along the windshield....73 up dashes are removable, not sure how many bolts they have tho

Re: The Dash

If your dash just needs the holes for AC you can just cut them out for the AC. But if it is cut up by a p/o you can remove it. There are three bolts on each side and is spot welded along the bottom of were the windshield meets the dash.

A lot of people just cut the dash along the slots under the dash pad (remove pad first lol). Then they unbolt the sides, leaving the top portion with all the spot welds intact and the complete lower area in your hands to do with as you please.
