Dana 44 Hub Rebuild

Anyone know of someone local to High Point, NC or someone I can mail parts to and rebuild Dana 44 front Hubs? There are a lot of parts to it so I'd rather pay someone who has experience doing it it if the price is right.

:agree:warn and mile marker street hubs are fairly inexpensive, usually around $100, and not hard to install at all.

I'm talking about the actual front hub which the locking Mile Marker or Warn Hub fits inside.

you should be able to pick that up at your local parts store.take that and your rotor to any shop and they should be able to press it in for you.you my even be able to buy the hub and rotor assy. together at the parts store.

Thanks for the help. I already have my parts and rotors and the more information I find - like you guys advice and rebuild pages on the web - I think I can just press everything in myself. It had me concerned when I took it apart because I had to take the Warn locking hub assembly out and there were a bunch of small parts. But I decided to just buy a new Warn hub already assembled set so it should make it easier.

As far as getting the press fit together easily, try sticking the rotor in the oven for a few minutes and the hub in the freezer for a while. They should slip together fairly easily.

Tried the LMC bearings/races I bought from LMC trucks today and they did not fit. Can anyone help identify either of these hubs. The old one on the left came off a Dana 44.

Get a hold of BLAZERMAN, he was selling NOS set on the parts board. He really good about ID ing parts.

were the bearings too small? When GM went to corporate 10 bolt axles ('76 or '77) they increased the size of the spindle / inner hub bearing. The later large bearing spindles will bolt to a Dana 44, so if the bearing was too small likely your hub is the large diameter style and you need the larger bearing.

Re: Dana 44 Hub Rebuild

Both bearings were too small, I think. I'm sure the outer was but the inner may have fit, but it would have seated further in the hub.

Thanks for Blazerman's info. He and I talked on the phone but I haven't heard if he was able to ID my hub.

Can anyone tell me the identification of this hub according to these markings:
