what's the differance in the two lengths of rear leaf springs
just curious what the differance is between the two differant lengths of rear leaf springs for the 67-72 chevy 4x4. any clear advantage of one over the other? The reason i ask is that i am converting my 2wd frame to 4wd so I can install the mounting perches as i like.

The longer and flatter the spring, the better the ride will be.

I think the 67-72's use like 48" ones and the 73 up use 52". Some of the 73 up use 56" but I think these are in 1 tons or heavy duty 3/4 tons. I'll have to go measure mine to let you know for sure.

67-68 rear springs are not the same as 69-72. 67-68 springs are also not available through the larger suppliers. They have to be custom made.
