Firing order right? 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2? clockwise on the cap?

Does it sound normal when it cranks over? Are the plugs dry or wet after cranking?

Re: help! truck wont start! help plz......

sounds very normal turning over.. just cranking... plug lightly moist with fuel... not bad?

rocker arms adjusted to tight holding valves open. did you do a compression test?

if the engine sat for awhile the lifters may have bled down causing the valves not operate properly. cranking the engine over a few more times should pump them back up but do not flood the engine or you will wash the cylinders down

or go thru a complete rocker arm adjustment procedure for all valves.

Make sure that you aren't 180 degrees off. It's easy to stab the distributor at what you think is TDC on compression when it actually was at the top of the exhaust stroke. You can pull the driver's side valve cover to insure both valves are closed, and you could also check to see if rockers are adjusted close at the same time.

i thought that but, it is on compression because we put our thumb over the plug hole and it pushes out.....
