Kansas salvage/bone yards
Does anyone know of any good parts yards out here with a few of our old trucks. Have been though nearly every salvage in the wichita area and the pickins are getting slim. Heard of an old chevy graveyard in kc area and one in northern oklahoma, is this true and does anybody know the names of them.

Ray's Metal Depot (my brother in law) in La Harpe has a number of cabs and some sheet metal. Most of the trucks have been pretty well picked over. No burbs that I have seen. There's a number of smaller yards in SE Kansas, most have some of these trucks but would assume most have been picked over pretty good.

the one that i always go to is in wymore nebraska, since i only live 11 miles from the state line and it isn't very far from the stateline either its pretty easy, they have got quite the selection, i haven't been up there in a while, i probably will this summer though, the one around here locally won't let you just go wonder around, its crap.

Are you looking for anything in particular?? I have alot of 67-72 parts and I'm just 10 miles west of Wichita, Greg

Don't know of yards in KS, but will keep your thread TTT. Gregsplace, I forgot how close you were to Wichita. I was in your neck of the woods last weekend. Went to a wedding in north Wichita and stayed with my brother in Cheney. Looked at a '71 in Goddard, right along 54. Very low rust, but kind of banged up everywhere. He was asking $4k for it. Maybe worth it if it wasn't so banged up, but I am guessing he will have a hard time selling it. Would have been nice to see all of your goodies. Maybe next time.

Not much around the salina area:mad: but you can go to abilene and a salvage yard called Sutton Salvage has plenty of them... they won't let you pick through but they might have what you are looking for!

The only 2 I can think of are both north of Hays. The "good" one is a few miles off the highway. There is one a few miles north of town, but they mostly deal in late model stuff. I stopped in there looking for parts for my convertible, and they pointed me to this good old school boneyard a few miles west of them. There were several of our trucks in there when I was there a few years ago. I bet I wondered around that place for 3 hours. I can't remember the name of it though.
