Steering Wheel Color Question?

Is this color Wheel Sandalwood or Parchment? Did they make both? Do they reproduce them? Thanks Jim

Re: Steering Wheel Color Question?

sandalwood, and I am not sure that they reproduce that color of wheel. You might try YearOne. Trevor

Re: Steering Wheel Color Question?

Looks like they DO NOT reproduce the light one- just the Saddle/Brown.

Sandalwood is a tough one. It's what came with Parchment unless equipped with tilt (black wheel/column/dash pad). Maybe it's time to die...I mean dye!!!

So if you got a tilt you got a Black wheel and dashpad to match the column? That's true on a 1970? I plan on adding a tilt so that would help! I want to keep the parchment- but like that those parts would be black. Thanks! Jim

Re: Steering Wheel Color Question?

Jim, Tim is right. Sandalwood dash pad, column, and steering wheel with parchment interior and NO tilt. Black dash pad, wheel, and black column when Tilt. Trevor

Special Note **** - before someone disagrees, there are a few cases where this wasn't the same. Those are very few and far between, but most that had tilt had black matching parts, and there were never any tilt wheels that weren't painted black from factory.

Saw this one today that looks pretty original with black wheel and column and a Saddle dash pad. I asked the owner to confirm this was factory config. or added. Thanks Jim

I guess since this post has NOTHING to do with-
1. '67 Parts
2. Armrests
3. Red Colored parts

Yeah- pretty off topic but at least we get yet another taste of how crazy for '67s you are. :truck:

Don't be shy, start your own thread..When people see the title you will get specific replies.

Back to our regularly scheduled program...
I guess that Saddle w/ Bronze paint combo may be one of the exceptions. I had a '72 Cheyenne Super that had a Parchment interior w/Hugger Orange paint and tilt. It had the black dash pad "AND" a/c outlets. I like the color-matched outlets much more and have seen that vary, too. To tell the truth, unless you go for 100% correct,I would do the colors how you like. Factory-lookin' yet not correct can look dang good. I had an Ochre Cheyenne Super w/Saddle interior. I did everything in Saddle, even the tilt column/wheel.It looked awesome! And right, but it was wrong. Am I making sense?LOL
